Construction jobs and apprenticeships in Runcorn

06.02.2020

We are looking for local people to join our construction team currently building 16 affordable rental homes in Runcorn.

Our new development in Tanhouse is being undertaken by our construction partners ENGIE, and needs a labourer and two apprentices. Together we are also able to offer work experience and training, with nationally recognised qualifications and guaranteed job interviews for those who take part.

Our Strategic Partnerships Manager, Usman Ashiq said: “Building new homes is a big part of what we do at Plus Dane, but it is just as important that we create opportunities that really benefit local communities and have a real social value, like being able to create meaningful work and training opportunities.”

There will be an open day on Monday, March 9 between 11am and 1pm at the new Community Shop in Priory House, Northway. Training dates follow on there on Monday, March 23 to Friday March 27.

It is all part of our commitment with ENGIE to making sure our developments have an impact socially, as well as building new homes in the area. The new homes in Tanhouse are scheduled for completion in spring 2021.

Liz McCloskey, Senior Community Engagement Officer at ENGIE, said: “We are delighted to bring our expertise to this development, but are also excited to potentially help people take their first steps into the regeneration and construction world, by offering a variety of work and training opportunities.

“As a business, ENGIE is focused on working with partners to improve the environment we live in. We want to impact and support the communities we work in and the people we work with, so are always looking to see how we can leave a lasting impression in the areas where we are delivering projects.”

Plus Dane customers are encouraged to apply, and all Runcorn residents are invited to attend the open day. Apprenticeship opportunities are open to applicants of all ages and genders, with no experience necessary.
