Breaking Barriers

Breaking Barriers is a pre-employability programme designed to support those furthest from the job market.

Their aim is to support people in moving forward, whether that be moving into work, or education getting into volunteering, or starting training. The programme focuses on supporting individuals to build confidence and self-belief, develop new skills, and take positive steps in building a brighter future. They will work with individuals to provide support most appropriate to them and we strive to encourage community-based activities that promote social inclusion. By helping individuals to overcome the specific challenges they face, they feel we offer a unique and much needed service that fills the gap in employment support. Antrec is a family run business based in Bootle and around 8000 learners have come through their training over the past 5 years, each ready for a role within one of their partner organisations.

They are one of the busiest taxi training academies in the UK and also provide training courses in adult health and social care, call centre, hospitality and customer service roles. Their courses generally range from 4 days to 10 days and if you are unemployed and in receipt of benefits this training will come at no added cost.

Over the past year Antrec have also developed their own NCFE accredited course in SEAT (Service Enterprise Awareness Training) supporting learners to explore some of the key issues facing us today.

Please note Antrec will be opening a new office base in Liverpool City Centre in November – so if you wish to attend any of the courses you would not be required to travel to Bootle.
