Freedom Day 19 July - What this means for you
From Monday, the government’s Covid restrictions will be lifted so we thought it would be useful to outline how we intend on working, particularly when we visit you in your home.
Our main priority throughout the pandemic has been to keep our colleagues and customers safe and the measures we have taken have been successful so far. We know that the virus has not gone away and that cases and deaths are expected to rise according to government predictions, so we plan to keep the measures we have put in place for the foreseeable future including:
- We will ask you before we visit you, probably more than once, whether you or anyone in your home has any Covid-19 symptoms or is self-isolating and we would ask that you continue to let us know if anything changes between the time of you booking an appointment and the appointment itself.
- Before entering your home, we will ask you to step back into your home so that we can maintain social distancing and ask where possible for you to remain in another room while we complete the job.
- Our colleagues will wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when they enter your home and will wipe any surfaces they are working around before and after.
- They may ask if they can wash their hands if necessary but they do carry cleansing products so it’s not a problem if its not possible.
Most of our colleagues will continue to work from home so our offices will remain closed to customers for the time being but this is something we will continually review over the coming weeks so that when we do open up again, we can be confident of doing it safely.
For the time being, we will be keeping our community centres closed. We want to allow some time for us to assess situation to see how the easing of restrictions impacts locally but we will review this on a regular basis and are committed to opening them as soon as we feel we can do so safely.
