Give Get Go
If you are unemployed but need a little extra support getting back into work, GiveGetGo can help.
GiveGetGo is a unique programme that specialises in helping unemployed people build their confidence in the workplace, using volunteering opportunities to connect people and employers in a different kind of way.
The next course begins at the University of Liverpool in September and the project, delivered by the Transform Lives Company in partnership with Plus Dane Housing, is now looking for people who would like to take part.
Getting involved will give you the chance to volunteer in roles across the university campus, as well as being mentored by an employee there. After completing the programme, participants are guaranteed to be interviewed for vacancies at the university if they can demonstrate they meet the minimum criteria.
GiveGetGo has helped to give people including veterans, asylum seekers and ex-offenders a path back into work. In addition, tenants and customers of Plus Dane Housing are among those who have taken the course and gone on to secure work in places like the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and the NHS.
The 12-week course is designed for people who are out of work and who may be long-term unemployed, giving them the opportunity to volunteer in a high profile organisation, build their confidence and achieve their goals. There is also training on motivation, resilience, and managing stress.
More than 60% of people who have taken the course have gained employment with organisations such as the Home Office, Wirral Collage and Merseyrail, in roles such as admin, gardening, customer services, nursing, security and more.
If you’re interested in joining the next intake of GiveGetGo, there is an information session at Liverpool University on September 12. For more information, contact Transform Lives on 07748817260.
