Grant available to improve Ellesmere Port and Neston neighbourhoods
Ellesmere Port and Neston neighbourhoods served by Plus Dane Housing can apply for grant funding for projects to make worthwhile improvements to their local area.
The Love Your Neighbourhood grant offers small scale investment to make a big difference.
Plus Dane is currently accepting applications for the grant, which is available for community projects in Ellesmere Port and Neston from £100 up to £5,000. The money can cover the cost of a project outright, or can be used as match funding. The closing date for applications is Friday, September 2 at 5pm.
Projects must benefit residents of Cheshire West and Chester or Plus Dane tenants, and promote cleaner and greener neighbourhoods or help to reduce anti-social behaviour and improve the feeling of safety in an area.
Projects that have benefitted from the grant to date include Atherton Road community garden, the Rother Drive play area, Lime Street allotments as well as numerous environmental improvements to footpaths and the installation of security fences.
Kate Jungnitz, director of Ellesmere Port and Neston at Plus Dane, said: “Sometimes improvements may not fit in with our larger programmes but are really important to local residents.
“The Love Your Neighbourhood grant is available for those smaller projects that will have a really positive impact on communities. The great thing is that it is a completely tenant-led project. It is about listening to our customers giving them a choice to improve their neighbourhoods and enhance the quality of life for the local community.”
A tenant panel processes all applications, meaning decisions are made by members of the local community.
If applicants are able to demonstrate a need for their project in the community, either from consultation exercises or using local data, this helps with the process. If you need assistance with this please contact Plus Dane.
Community groups, charities, Cheshire West and Chester residents, and Plus Dane tenants and leaseholders are among those eligible to apply for the Love Your Neighbourhood grant. An application form can be completed or downloaded from Plus Dane’s website, or contact Chris Davis for more information on: firstname.lastname@example.org or 0151 373 2512.
