Healthy Cooking Classes for Middlewich families

We're offering our Middlewich families the opportunity to learn how to cook healthy meals, and enjoy a free lunch, this summer.

Plus Dane Housing and Healthbox CIC are inviting local families with children of primary school age to come and take part at The Middlewich Methodist Church.

Families can sign up for five sessions throughout August at which they will receive advice and support with food budgeting, preparing healthy meals, low cost recipes and much more. The project will also offer a range of fun activities for children, designed to improve their knowledge and awareness around healthy eating.

Usman Ashiq, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Plus Dane, said: “We understand the importance of providing opportunities to help our parents and children to thrive and live healthy lifestyles. These sessions will offer a chance for parents and children to try their hands at healthy cooking so we expect the sessions to be full of enjoyment and learning. We’re really pleased to be able to support local families.”

Mark Gleave from Healthbox CIC said: “These two hour sessions will provide the children with free, healthy, cooked food during the school holidays. This strong partnership between Healthbox CIC and Plus Dane Housing will help parents and children to learn in a fun and practical way, and support their social and personal development.”

Places are limited and are expected to fill up quickly, so anyone interested in taking part can contact either Aaron Burt on 01260 288427, Usman Ashiq on 01260 288422 or email Engagement&

The sessions will run every Thursday in August from 1-3pm beginning this Thursday 1st August at Middlewich Methodist Church (108 Booth Lane, CW10 0EF).
