Over 170 residents attend our ‘Big Lunch’
Plus Dane, in partnership with Cheshire East Council, hosted the Big Lunch for Bromley Farm residents in Congleton on Sunday 7th June.
The Big Lunch is the UK’s annual get-together event for neighbours, an idea from the Eden Project made possible by The Big Lottery Fund. It’s the perfect recipe for having fun with your neighbours, feeding community spirit and helping to build stronger neighbourhoods.
More than 170 residents took part on the day, which took place on Parnell Square. Plus Dane’s Bromley Friendship Group was also in attendance and raised over £260 from their two stalls.
Entertainment included a BBQ, healthy cooking demonstrations, live street food along with foods from around the world, African drummers, children’s entertainment and more.
Usman Ashiq, Health and Wellbeing Officer for Plus Dane, said: “It was fantastic to see so many tenants coming together to this event and having lunch together in a simple act of community spirit, cohesion and wellbeing. It also proved a good opportunity to make tenants aware of our engagement initiatives which are available to them.”
