Plus Dane appoints new board members

Plus Dane Housing is pleased to announce five new members are to join its board.

Public health expert Dr Ann Hoskins, charity boss Tommy McIlravey, digital media entrepreneur Jon Corner, plus two independent members of Plus Dane’s  Audit and Risk Committee public finance expert Julie Gill, and utilities finance executive Rob O’Malley will join the housing association board between now and September.

The new appointments are part of Plus Dane’s board succession plans that recently saw Sir Peter Fahy, appointed as chair. He joined Plus Dane’s board in May as Chair designate and will formally take up the position of Chair in September when Linda Minnis steps down.

In its 2015 Regulatory Judgement the HCA acknowledged the work that had been done to strengthen the board and sought assurances on succession planning for those board members that were stepping down.

Tom Murtha, Plus Dane board member who chaired the recruitment panel, said:

"Plus Dane is looking forward to an exciting future; we were very clear throughout the recruitment process on the skills mix we were looking for in our new board Members as we wanted to complement not replicate what we already have. All of the new Board Members bring something new and different and I am confident that we have a great mix of skills, expertise and enthusiasm to lead us from strength to strength."

Linda Minnis, Chair of Plus Dane (pictured) added:

“Alongside me, there are a number of board members stepping down this year after serving a three year term to help us through the period following our regulatory downgrade and I would like to thank them for their hard work and commitment over that time. We leave the organisation in a stronger position than it was in 2013 with a board strengthened further by the appointment of some excellent new members.”
