Plus Dane is recruiting more apprentices!
Plus Dane Housing is once again recruiting for its “stars of the future” with a new intake of talented apprentices.
This year, Plus Dane has 12 apprenticeships available in housing, IT, trades - including plumbing, gas and electrical - engagement and partnerships, and customer service. The roles will be based across locations in Liverpool and Congleton.
The housing association, which owns more than 13,000 properties across Merseyside and Cheshire, has always recognised that apprenticeships offer life-changing opportunities, an alternative route to higher education, and a chance to ‘earn while you learn’ whilst making a valuable contribution in the workplace.
This commitment to training and development opportunities for young people is now part of the policy direction of the organisation. Last year 18 apprentices were recruited across the business, and Plus Dane joined The 5% Club – an industry-led campaign in which member strive to ensure 5% of their workforce consists of a mixture of apprentices, sponsored students, and graduates on formalised training schemes.
Plus Dane Chief executive Barbara Spicer said: “Last year’s intake of apprentices set a high bar, and we are delighted that so many talented and enthusiastic young people chose to invest in their futures with Plus Dane.
“Our apprentices are our stars of the future, and I am so proud of the support and opportunities the organisation is able to offer young people starting out in their careers. I look forward to meeting our new recruits later in the year.”
Plus Dane offers its apprentices a higher-than-average apprenticeship salary, with wages starting from £12,472. Apprentices will achieve a qualification in partnership with our training providers, gain relevant on-the-job experience, be mentored by experienced managers, and develop a career progression plan.
Liverpool City Region Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram said: “In my Manifesto I was clear that our future prosperity is ultimately dependent on our ability to develop a well-qualified and highly skilled workforce. This is one of our biggest challenges, so it is good to see a business such as Plus Dane take the recruitment of local apprentices and graduates so seriously. We all need to harness the energy and creativity of our young people for the future of the City Region.”
Dr Sam Healy, Programme Director at The 5% Club said: “We are delighted that Plus Dane are taking on more apprentices and providing young people with opportunities to earn and learn.”
