Plus Dane officer wins ‘digital leader’ award
Plus Dane Housing’s digital communications officer Rebecca Kinsella was named Young Digital Leader of the Year at the first Digital City Awards.
The awards were held in Manchester’s Albert Hall as part of the Digital City Expo, and brought together professionals in a wide variety of sectors from across the North West.
The Young Digital Leader of the Year category was open to under 30s and was decided by a public vote. Although the Digital City Awards judges didn’t pick the winner of her category, they recognised Rebecca as “an impressive young leader in digital, who has shown drive and determination.” She was the only nominee at the whole event to represent the housing sector.
Rebecca joined Plus Dane in 2014 aged 23, and has made strides developing her skills and her role in digital communications. She is studying for a master’s degree in digital marketing at Liverpool John Moores University, funded by Plus Dane, and was named 7th in the top 20 young leaders in housing by 24 Housing Magazine last year.
She said: “I am passionate about all things digital and how we can use it to make things easier and simpler across the workplace, to the benefit of staff and customers alike. I’m so happy to have been recognised with this award and to be named young digital leader of the year and would like to thank everyone who voted for me and made this possible.”
Plus Dane’s head of communications Danielle Sharp said: “Beckie is a natural leader. She has been at the heart of huge digital changes at Plus Dane over the last few years, using her knowledge and creativity to help us get the most out of our digital channels and I couldn’t be prouder of her winning this award.”
