Sir Peter Fahy
Sir Peter Fahy was a police officer for 34 years including five years as Chief Constable of Cheshire and seven as Chief Constable of Greater Manchester. During this time he took the lead on many change programmes including introducing neighbourhood policing in both forces and was active on national policy work including terrorism, workforce reform and leadership development. He is currently the Chief Executive of the street children charity Retrak based in Cheadle Hulme and works in Ethiopia, Malawi and Uganda.
Other positions Sir Peter holds include President of Manchester East Scouts; trustee of the Catholic Diocese of Salford; trustee of the Laurus Trust and a number of other charities. He has been a school governor for over 25 years and is an honorary professor at the University of Manchester. He was knighted for services to policing in 2012.
