We hosted our second successful International Women’s Day event, aimed at celebrating and inspiring colleagues.
The event, Lifting Each Other: The Power of Giving for Women, was centred around the day’s theme of ‘Give to Gain’.
After a networking lunch at our Atlantic Pavilion offices, guest speaker Femi Otitoju, founder of Challenge EDI, reflected on one of the mentors who had a big impact on her early career in newspaper advertising in London.
A panel from across the North West took part in a discussion on how far we have come and what more we can do collectively to support women, in spaces including wellbeing, personal and professional development, coaching and mentoring, and success at Board level.
More than 70 Plus Dane colleagues alongside invited guests from organisations across the region took part in the event.
Deputy chief executive Claire Dixon said: “We held our first International Women’s Day event last year as a way for Plus Dane colleagues to talk about their experiences, learn and grow. Its success inspired us to extend the invitation to others outside of our organisation to expand the conversation and explore what can be achieved through collaboration.
“We are grateful to Femi from Challenge EDI for joining us and giving such an inspiring talk, as well as our colleagues who pushed themselves out of their comfort zone to share their stories.”
