We have been named regional housing association of the year at the 2025 Energy Efficiency Awards (North West)!
We were nominated by our partner organisation Next Energy, which has worked with us in recent years to deliver a range of retrofitting projects that is making a difference to hundreds of homes.
The Energy Efficiency Awards serve to recognise the great innovators and achievements across the sector, working to save energy, help the environment and drive down energy bills.
Over the last 12 months we have spent a combined £8m on energy efficient improvements on 598 of our homes, as well as helping to facilitate ECO ‘exemptions’ referrals for neighbouring properties in our communities, via contractor partners such as Next Energy.
We have match-funded awards from the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (allocated by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority), as well as other sources of finance.
The work recognised in the awards entry included installing solar panels on more than 550 homes, and other improvements including loft insulation, ventilation and damp works.
In the 2024/25 financial year, Plus Dane moved 510 homes from an energy rating of D or E, up to C or B, making the homes warmer and more energy efficient – and saving customers money on their bills too.
Chris Roberts, Sustainability Manager at Plus Dane, said: “We are delighted to have been named housing association of the year. Our fantastic working relationship with Next is allowing us to make hundreds of our homes more energy efficient and combat damp and mould issues and we are pleased that our work has been recognised with this award.”
Anthony Daly, Operations Director at Next Energy said: “Plus Dane’s commitment to partnership, innovation, and impact made them a standout candidate for Housing Association of the Year, and we are delighted that they won this award. Their work demonstrates what’s possible when bold ambition meets collaborative execution, even in the most complex housing environments.”
