It was fantastic to see Liverpool’s diverse LGBTQ+ community and its allies come together to celebrate at the rescued Liverpool’s Pride march this weekend.
Plus Dane colleagues joined the march which had a real sense of community, solidarity and joy!
This year the march went past our offices in the Royal Albert Dock Liverpool. People Advisor James Pearson (pictured above with executive director Chris Morris and maintenance operative Peter Jackson-Barnes) said: “As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, it means a lot working for an organisation that actively supports Pride in its communities, through sponsorship of both Liverpool and Congleton Pride.”
Congleton Pride was held on July 19 and Plus Dane was one of the sponsors of its community stage.
At Plus Dane, we want our communities to be safe and inclusive places to live, and we want our colleagues to feel that they can be themselves in the workplace.
As part of our commitment to equality, diversion and inclusion (EDI), we recently signed up to the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge as a member of HouseProud.
Houseproud is a colleague network across social housing, and we get to share best practice with other housing associations and connect with customer resources such as Rainbow Roofs – a support network for LGBTQ+ people living in social housing.
You can contact Rainbow Roofs if you have any housing issue that you think may benefit from their understanding and specialist knowledge.
We also spoke to Kevin and Ged from Rainbow Roofs for a special episode of our Plus Dane Podcast – you can listen and find out more about them here.
Visit the HouseProud website for more information, or contact Rainbow Roofs by email or on Facebook.
