We are continuing our working partnership with national social care charity Making Space.
The successful partnership allows us to offer tailored wellbeing and mental health support to customers in Cheshire.
Plus Dane and Making Space set up the Wellbeing First project in 2022, and it has helped nearly 200 customers to date. The contract between the organisations was recently renewed, following the required tender process.
Wellbeing First provides friendly, one-to-one support to Plus Dane customers concerned about mental health issues like depression, stress, anxiety, worry, or low mood. It has helped people to improve their confidence, self-esteem and emotional resilience, resulting in an increased sense of purpose, self-worth, and improved independence and aspirations for the future.
The service provides weekly 1-2-1 wellbeing support at days and times that suit customers, as well as self-guided help and access to online therapy modules.
Our strategic partnerships manager Usman Ashiq, said: “We see how things like cost-of-living pressures, caring responsibilities and so much more affect the mental health of our customers, and offering this kind of support to be able to talk through their problems has become an important service for a social landlord to offer.
“Our partnership with Making Space has been a great success and the feedback from people who have used the Wellbeing First service has shown us that it makes a huge difference to how people cope with their mental health issues.”
Keri Smith, Director of Development at Making Space, added: “We are incredibly proud to continue our partnership with Plus Dane and to build on the success of the Wellbeing First service. Together, we share a deep commitment to supporting people’s wellbeing, strengthening resilience, and making sure no one has to face mental health challenges alone.
"Renewing this partnership means Plus Dane can keep offering compassionate, person-centred support that truly reflects our shared values and makes a meaningful difference to people’s lives.”
Wellbeing First is open to Cheshire-based Plus Dane customers aged 16 and over. Referrals and enquires can be sent to engagement&partnerships@plusdane.co.uk .
