Robin is the recently retired chief executive of Northwards Housing which he led from its foundation in 2005 until December 2020. He is a trustee of the Carbon Literacy Trust & chair of governors at Manchester Communications Academy. Robin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing & a Past President of the institute. Robin has a passion for tackling inequality & climate change & for Liverpool FC having been a Kop season-ticket holder for over 30 years!
Before moving to Manchester, Robin worked in Leeds for over 20 years including being founder Chief Executive of Leeds West Homes, Assistant Director of Housing & Environmental Health with the Council & Project Director of Leeds Partnership Homes. He chaired Leeds YouthBuild Board and he was a member of the Board of Sadeh Lok, a BME association based in Huddersfield, having stepped down after many years service, including the position of Vice Chair.
Robin graduated in Planning, but went into the housing sector with Liverpool Housing Trust. He has a post graduate qualification in Housing & is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. He became a Member of CIH Council in 2005, Chaired the Policy and Practice Board for 4 years and served as President of CIH for 17 months until May 2013.
