Sheltered housing is rented accommodation that is specially designed for the over-55s. It is suitable for people who can live independently and are able to manage alone, but who prefer the added security of a community alarm system and the assistance of a Community Support Officer.
This includes people who are able to care for themselves with the help of a social services care package.
Sheltered housing aims to provide comfortable accommodation with added security, in an environment where residents have their own front door and can come and go as they please. It supports independence, but offers an extra layer of peace of mind and security.
Plus Dane has eight sheltered schemes with almost 300 units of accommodation across the Liverpool area, located in the following places: Alman Court at Aigburth, Colwell Court in Dovecot, Grange Court in Wavertree, Radleys Court in Toxteth, St. Cyrils Court in Belle Vale, St. Martins Mews in Everton, Vienna Court in Old Swan and Christopher Taylor House in Maghull.
Our schemes will usually provide the following facilities:
Self-contained flats or bungalows
Communal facilities such as a laundry, kitchen and lounge for social events
Security and safety features.
A Community Support Officer
24 hour emergency response through our community alarm service.
We provide help and advice on claiming welfare and/or housing benefit at the start of your tenancy.
