We support a range of activities including, stay and play, gentle exercise, fun days, healthy cooking sessions, allotments, community markets, exercise and keep fit classes, lunch clubs, open days and social events.

Cheshire

St John’s Community Centre

St John’s Community Centre offers the people of Buglawton and Congleton a bridge between the community we live in and the facilities & services offered by a range of charities, support agencies, local clubs and the church aimed at improving the wellbeing of local residents.

Buglawton Community Group

A local community based voluntary group that was set up in 1999 with the objectives to make Buglawton a safer, more beautiful and cleaner place to live, work & play in. The BCG meets with residents, Police, Councillors & Housings association representatives 3 times a year to address the local needs & projects of the community.

One of the yearly projects is “Buglawton in Bloom” with a number of large display tubs at various prominent public spaces around Buglawton. The community group volunteers provide the labour free-of-charge, keeping the whole of Buglawton a more respectable place to live in.

A large and established community centre in the heart of Sandbach. Lots of varied activities and projects for local residents. Activities include health checks, yoga, over 50s exercise groups, be steady falls prevention, social activities and much more. To find out more, contact the Engagement Team on 0800 169 2988.

Led by Susan and Leslie, a group of likeminded local residents who come together to organise and facilitate a range of positive activities. The group aim to support peoples mental wellbeing, help reduce loneliness and support learning and facilitate enjoyment. To find out more, contact the Engagement Team on 0800 169 2988.

Merseyside

A vibrant community centre based in the heart of the Castlefields estate in Runcorn. A wide range of health and wellbeing activities delivered by community based organisations. Employment and training support is also available at the centre along with a welcoming café area open to the public.  If you are a Plus Dane customer wanting to find out more then please get in touch. There is a range of activities taking place that you can get involved in. This includes face to face for support to find work or training and health and wellbeing activities. To find out more, contact the Engagement Team on 0800 169 2988.

The pantry is open to all people living in the parish of St Columba’s – which includes the Pinehurst estate. It is open every Friday 9.30am to 11.30am. For £3.50 you are able to choose from a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned and dried produce and fresh meat/vegetarian options. There are also additional items available(such as cleaning products, toiletries and household items) for free every month or so. You are also able to get support and advice on welfare rights, employment, health and well-being. Plus Dane staff attend and offer support including emergency provision if you are struggling with food and fuel. For further details please contact the Engagement Team on 0800 169 2988.

Coffee mornings are available for residents who live in the area.  Craft classes and gentle exercise classes are soon to begin. To find out more, contact the Engagement Team on 0800 169 2988.

There is a lunch club every Friday from 1pm and also bingo during the week, as well as family activities throughout the year. To find out more, contact the Engagement Team on 0800 169 2988.
