Evie McDonald started with us in October 2022 as our Community and Customer Engagement Apprentice. She is thriving in her role and is fantastic with our customers. Evie has even won our monthly Values in Action award and been immortalised as a Plus Dane cartoon! We asked her some questions about her time with us so far:
Everything is great, I'm still loving working for Plus Dane. I am fitting in really well in my team and loving every minute of it.
Going to St Columba’s food pantry every Friday
Going to housing conferences in Manchester and London
Supporting low income families with school uniforms
My favourite thing about working for Plus Dane is that everyday is different and I am not just stuck in the same office every day. I could be out meeting partners or working from home.
Yes I would 100% recommend an apprenticeship at Plus Dane! It's an amazing company to work for and has given me a great start to my working life. I know I can build a career here or gain the experience to move elsewhere. Also, Plus Dane have been my biggest supporter when it comes to my dyslexia. In my previous roles I have struggled to get extra support, but as soon as I started here I got the support I needed and this means everything to me.
Evie works so hard every day, talking to our customers who are in crisis about what support we can offer. She is super professional and shows a passion to get the right support in place. Our team are in awe of her energy and she is always positive and upbeat. She is a pleasure to work with and we felt it right and important that she is recognised for her hard work.
