Helping you to save on household bills

We have been saving customers thousands of pounds by joining up with a social enterprise that specialises in finding the best deals on a range of household bills.  

Pocket Power describes itself as “on a mission to put money back in people’s pockets” by providing a free phone service to help switch to cheaper deals and discounts on household bills. 

The service is ideal for those who are not tech savvy, don’t have internet access, or don’t have the time to look around for cheaper deals. 

Since teaming up with Pocket Power, more than 40 Plus Dane customers across Merseyside and Cheshire have saved a total of nearly £10,000 on their bills. We are now looking for more customers to sign up, and are also inviting our colleagues to take advantage and see how much they could save. 

Partnership manager Usman Ashiq said: “Partnering with Pocket Power is just one of the things we have been doing to help our customers and colleagues with the cost of living crisis, and has got off to a great start. 

“We have been amazed at the outcomes achieved so far and the savings that have made, so we want all customers to know they can get in touch with us if they would like some help and assistance with switching providers through Pocket Power.” 

A call with Pocket Power lasts between 30 to 60 minutes and saves people an average of £200-£300 a time, helping to apply for discounts and switch phone, broadband, water, car insurance and banking bills. 

They will also follow up to help you apply for new discounts as they are announced, or switch when contracts run out. 

Gervase Poulton, head of partnerships and product at Pocket Power, said: "We have been very excited to start our partnership with PlusDane. People are really struggling with the cost of living at the moment. At Pocket Power we help put money back in people's pockets by helping them to switch utility providers, get discounts and wipe debt from bills like water, energy and broadband. We can even help people get a replacement fridge or washing machine.  

“So far Plus Dane customers we have spoken to have saved on average £200 per call, with one customer making over £1,000 of savings. We are looking forward to continuing to support Plus Dane customers this winter and beyond."
