Working in your home

When we carry out work in your home, we want you to feel confident about what to expect. Our team is committed to treating your home with respect, keeping you informed, and carrying out work safely and considerately. Below is a guide to how we will work with you before, during and after your appointment:

Before and on arrival  

  • We will ring you on the day, ahead of your appointment to confirm we will be attending 

  • If we don’t get an immediate answer when we knock on the door, we will wait for five minutes.  

  • We will introduce ourselves and show our name badge   

  • We will explain the nature of the work we will be carrying out and confirm an adult over the age of 18 is present before we enter your home.    

  • If for any reason work cannot start or is delayed, we will let you know the reason for this.  

  • If you are not in when we attend the appointment, we will leave a card which explains that we have been and asking you to make a further appointment within 5 days. 

When inside your home   

  • We will treat your home with respect! 

  • We will park considerately of you and your neighbours   

  • We will offer to wear protective shoe covers 

  • We will protect your belongings from damage  

  • We will keep materials and tools in safe, convenient positions  

  • We will not smoke or vape   

  • We will request your permission when photographs are required.  

  • We will not have a radio on unless you have given us permission   

  • We will make sure any equipment we need is used safely, in a way that causes minimum inconvenience and is removed as soon as is possible  

  • We will clean the area where we have been working and take any rubbish away
